Behind the cup

A fan favorite returning to our menu, La Leona from Edgardo Tinoco. Juicy stonefruit notes of pluot harmonize with subtle hints of vanilla and sweetly acidic white grape to create a smooth and comforting cup.

Farmlevel Story

La Leona is one of the standout farms in Edgardo Tinoco’s portfolio, known for producing some of the finest Honduran coffees. Grown in the buffer zone of the Santa Bárbara Mountain Nature Reserve, Edgardo Tinoco’s lots have twice earned first place in the Cup of Excellence and this year secured 4th and 13th place. For over a decade, we’ve consistently sourced his coffees, continually impressed by their exceptional quality. This month, we’re thrilled to share this exquisite Pacas lot from Finca La Leona.  

Edgardo Tinoco began growing coffee in his teenage years, under the guidance of his father. In 2015 he purchased Finca La Leona, which stands on the southern slopes of the Santa Bárbara region. This Pacas lot underwent a washed process, then was dried on raised beds overlooking the biodiverse region below.

When speaking with Edgardo Tinoco, you feel his deep passion and reverence for the craft. He is carrying on the vision of a sustainable coffee legacy with the help of his sons Mauricio and Junior. Together they continue to balance tradition with agronomic science. This coffee is a testament to their joint efforts and a true pleasure to sip all day.
